Project ADAPTIVE! Advanced Production System for Sustainable and Productive Roofing Retrofit Research for sustainability Research for productivity Efficient use of water
Brief description
ADAPTIVE aims at developing a new advanced production system for the retrofit of building roofing which will enable the reduction and potential elimination of the accumulated environmental impact of its production chain, substantially increasing productivity for the construction industry.
A composite solution is sought for the retrofit of flat roofs in current buildings, one which is completely prefabricated and generates zero waste, materialized by biological polymers and synthetic polymers deriving from the waste of other industries, with the purpose of increasing the building’s energy performance, collecting and storing rainwater, and providing for the use of the roofing area as a gardened leisure space, integrated with equipment for autonomous electric energy production.
